Artemisia Afra

This shrub is a favourite go to herb for various health benefits. Known as Lengana in Setswana and Umhlonyane in Zulu as well as commonly referred to as Wormwood in English, Artemisia has been found in our backyards as well as fields for generations.

It carries a bitter taste and is a dark green in colour when brewed for longer, it is mostly brewed in a teapot and taken hot for colds, flu and asthma relief.
